After writing for so many years it finally dawned on me I should recap my grammar, so I did some research.

I discovered I didn't know quite as much as I thought and created a little guide on some basic grammar rules. It meant I could go to it each week and make sure I wasn't making a fool of myself (well, other than in the usual way).

It occurred to me that other bloggers and writers might also find it useful.

There's a section on self editing too, as many writers simply don't have the time or resources to pay someone to edit and proofread everything (I definitely don't). I've seen it suggested on many top blogs recently and wrote a simple breakdown of the editing process you could easily use to self edit.

Any writer will tell you it's impossible to avoid making any mistakes, but the less there are the easier it is for your reader. One or two makes you human, and is completely acceptable, but too many could lose you your reader.

So if you want to recap your grammar skills and improve your self editing this Free Download could be just thing.

It includes (but isn't limited to) stuff like:

  • How to use the comma - because that thing has more uses than eggs
  • Word stuffing you didn't notice you were doing
  • The correct way to make a list
  • How to really write a quote
  • Successful use of parentheses (brackets)
  • Content editing
  • Copy editing
  • Proofreading

I still use it regularly. The editing is particularly useful when writing longer pieces or novels (even if you intend to send it to a publisher).

I hope you find it helpful and it's free on my blog too so don't pay me for this, it's free. http://alittlecurl.com
